Stoyan Barakov (he/him) is a Bulgarian-Canadian artist, creator and maker living in Toronto, Canada. He holds a BFA from the Ontario College of Art and Design University with a major in Sculpture and Installation. He is currently completing his Master’s degree in Digital Media at the Yeates School of Graduate Studies, Ryerson University.  His work engages ideas of nostalgia, memory, and displacement while combining methodologies and contexts from his Bulgarian upbringing. Stoyan’s expertise lies in fabrication through digital manipulation. His art has been featured in the Toronto Star, On-Site Review Magazine, and as part of private collections. 

In 2019, he co-founded the art group Collective Memory which explores his ideas through public art and architecture.
