Headlights

Temporary installation exhibited in the Beaches, Toronto, ON for Luminosity 2021

Headlights is a collection of inanimate objects that have found their way to each other. Clothing articles that have been deemed ‘un-sellable’ create unique personas for discarded mannequins. The mannequins adorn once-obsolete lampshades instead of heads, and are illuminated by a warm and comforting light like that of your living room. Through upcycling, the collection has a life of its own that is much greater than the sum of its individual parts. The light is a guide by which these personas explore a new life, and once dimmed, they will move on to the next.
